TaxCorp Practice — help
From the first enquiry to the receipt: clients, recurring compliance work, the client upload link, GST invoices and collections, and the AI that drafts and answers over your own records.
Practice Growth — setup and quick start
Growth is the add-on that turns enquiries into clients and keeps clients close. It sits inside Practice (it works off your client master), and TaxCorp switches it on per firm. This page is the 20-minute setup followed by what a normal week looks like. The detailed guide covers every screen.
Setup — once, about 20 minutes
1. Tell it your profession (1 minute)
Settings → Growth → Profession of the firm. Chartered accountants, company secretaries, cost accountants and advocates are bound by their institutes' rules on solicitation and advertisement; tax consultants and LLPs without an institute are not. Growth reads every campaign against the rule that applies to you and warns before a partner approves — it never blocks. The rule in force is shown under the picker.
2. Connect the firm mailbox (5 minutes)
Settings → Growth → Firm mailbox. Messages to clients should come from your own address, not TaxCorp's.
- Gmail / Google Workspace — in the Google account turn on 2-Step Verification, then Security → App passwords → create one for "TaxCorp". Host
smtp.gmail.com, port 587, STARTTLS, username = the Gmail address, password = the app password. Tick Read replies (IMAP) with hostimap.gmail.com, port 993, SSL. - Zoho —
smtp.zoho.in587 STARTTLS; IMAPimap.zoho.in993. - Microsoft 365 — the admin enables Authenticated SMTP on the mailbox;
smtp.office365.com587 STARTTLS; IMAPoutlook.office365.com993. - cPanel / GoDaddy / your web host — the host's mail settings page gives the SMTP and IMAP servers; usually port 465 SSL or 587 STARTTLS.
- Nothing yet? Choose TaxCorp's server with your address as Reply-To. Switch later.
Press Send test and check the inbox (and spam). Set the daily limit below your provider's cap (Gmail personal ≈ 500 a day, Workspace ≈ 2,000). Add a signature if you like — it goes on every message.
3. Put the enquiry form on your website (5 minutes)
Settings → Growth → Enquiry form: switch it on, keep AI acknowledgement on, choose who is alerted. Copy the snippet into your website (your web person pastes it where the contact form goes; there is a plain HTML version for sites without JavaScript). Every submission becomes a lead marked inbound, the chosen person gets a mail, and the sender gets a short acknowledgement in the firm's voice within minutes naming who will call. The hosted address shown on the same card is for your WhatsApp Business bio and Google Business Profile.
4. Look at the stages and occasions (3 minutes)
Settings → Growth → Pipeline stages: labels, colours and an SLA in days per stage (a lead untouched past the SLA turns amber, past twice the SLA red). The defaults are sensible; change the SLAs to how fast your office actually follows up. Occasions: the festivals and days the firm greets clients on; lunar festival dates are marked confirm — check them once a year.
5. Pick a follow-up plan (3 minutes)
Growth → Sequences → Starters → "New enquiry — 3 touches". Read the three steps (call task on day 2, e-mail on day 5, WhatsApp on day 10), edit the wording, save. From now on every website enquiry proposes this plan on the lead; a partner approves it once (regulated professions) or, if you tick Start without approval, it simply runs. It stops the moment the person replies.
6. Ask TaxCorp to switch the add-on on
Until then the pipeline colours, scores, tags and search work (they are part of Practice); drafting, plans, campaigns, the enquiry form, referrals and the Monday brief wait for the switch. Settings → Growth shows the status.
Quick start — a normal week
Monday, 08:30 — the growth brief lands in the partners' and managers' inbox: how many leads are open and where, which ones are going cold (by name), proposals expiring this week, plans waiting for approval, campaigns due, dormant clients, birthdays, and one paragraph on what to do first. The same brief is on Growth → Overview.
Any lead, any day — open it on the board (red border = act now). Press Draft in Draft the next message: the AI has read the notes, the mails, the WhatsApp exchange, the proposal and the open work, and writes the next e-mail or WhatsApp so that it follows on from the last exchange and asks for one thing. Change what you like, then Send e-mail (from the firm mailbox) or Open in WhatsApp → Mark as sent. Not sure how to follow up? Suggest a 3-touch plan — edit the three steps and start it.
A client's Activity tab works the same way — the draft card is there too, useful for a payment nudge, a document chase in your own words, or a birthday greeting (the Overview lists this week's).
Two weeks before a festival or a due-date season — Growth → Overview → Suggested campaigns shows it; press Draft. Pick the segment (all active clients, GST-registered clients, audit clients…), press Draft with AI, read it, Save, Build recipient list & check compliance, look at the preview as one real recipient, optionally Personalise (one AI line per client from their own services and history), then Approve now or at a date. It goes out through the firm mailbox inside the send window at the hourly pace; opens, clicks and replies count on the campaign page; three days later the AI writes a short summary with two next actions.
When a circular or notification matters to your clients — the Overview also lists the last 30 days of GST and income-tax circulars and notifications from TaxCorp's own databases with Explain to clients — a law-update campaign drafted from that item, in plain words, to the segment it affects.
After a smooth filing season — Growth → Referrals: make a referral link for a happy client, draft the ask on their timeline. Whoever writes in through the link is attributed to that client on both timelines. Say thank you; the guard warns if the copy offers a reward.
Replies — with IMAP on, replies from clients and leads land on their timeline and in Growth → Inbox, stop running plans and count against the campaign. WhatsApp replies do the same through your WhatsApp Business number.

Three rules Growth never breaks
- The AI never sends. Every message is a person's click or a plan or campaign a person approved.
- Opted-out people are never written to again. Every marketing mail carries an unsubscribe link; a click opts the person out everywhere and stops their plans.
- Leads are people who contacted you. For a regulated profession the guard says so on every campaign that includes leads, and automatic plans for new leads wait for a partner's approval unless the firm decides otherwise.
