Gross GST Collections Record 13.9% Rise in June 2026: Detailed Analysis of Domestic, Import, Refund and State-wise Trends
The Ministry of Finance has released the provisional Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection data for June 2026, along with cumulative figures for the financial year up to 30 June 2026. The numbers indicate robust momentum in indirect tax collections, driven by both domestic consumption and import activity.
For June 2026, total gross GST revenue has climbed to Rs. 1,94,812 crore, reflecting a 13.9% year-on-year increase from Rs. 1,71,105 crore collected in June 2025. After accounting for refunds, net GST revenue stands at Rs. 1,62,377 crore, registering an 11.2% growth over the corresponding period of the previous year.

1. Overall Gross and Net GST Revenue: Monthly and Year-to-Date
1.1 Monthly performance – June 2026 vs June 2025
The GST revenue structure is split into domestic collections and receipts from imports, which together make up the overall gross revenue. Key highlights for June 2026 are:
Total Gross GST Revenue:
- June 2025: Rs. 1,71,105 crore
- June 2026: Rs. 1,94,812 crore
- Growth: 13.9%
Gross Domestic Revenue (CGST + SGST + IGST on domestic supplies):
- June 2025: Rs. 1,26,506 crore
- June 2026: Rs. 1,34,774 crore
- Growth: 6.5%
Gross Import Revenue (IGST on imports of goods):
- June 2025: Rs. 44,600 crore
- June 2026: Rs. 60,038 crore
- Growth: 34.6%
1.2 Cumulative collections up to June 2026
For the financial year up to 30 June 2026, the collections show steady expansion:
Cumulative Gross GST Revenue (up to June):
- FY 2025-26: Rs. 5,82,542 crore
- FY 2026-27: Rs. 6,31,699 crore
- Growth: 8.4%
Cumulative Net GST Revenue (after refunds, up to June):
- FY 2025-26: Rs. 5,04,187 crore
- FY 2026-27: Rs. 5,40,218 crore
- Growth: 7.1%
The data indicates that while monthly collections in June 2026 are significantly higher than June 2025, the year-to-date trend shows moderate yet healthy growth across the board.
2. Component-wise Break-up of GST Collections
2.1 Domestic GST revenue: CGST, SGST and IGST
Within the domestic segment, collections in June 2026 are as follows:
CGST (Domestic)
- June 2025: Rs. 34,558 crore
- June 2026: Rs. 37,376 crore
SGST (Domestic)
- June 2025: Rs. 43,268 crore
- June 2026: Rs. 45,116 crore
IGST (Domestic)
- June 2025: Rs. 48,680 crore
- June 2026: Rs. 52,282 crore
The combined gross domestic GST revenue has increased from Rs. 1,26,506 crore to Rs. 1,34,774 crore, marking a 6.5% increase in June 2026 over June 2025. On a cumulative basis for the first quarter:
- FY 2025-26: Rs. 4,42,118 crore
- FY 2026-27: Rs. 4,54,427 crore
- Growth: 2.8%
2.2 Import-related GST revenue (IGST on imports)
Revenue from IGST on imports has grown at a significantly faster pace:
Monthly import IGST
- June 2025: Rs. 44,600 crore
- June 2026: Rs. 60,038 crore
- Growth: 34.6%
Cumulative import IGST (up to June):
- FY 2025-26: Rs. 1,40,424 crore
- FY 2026-27: Rs. 1,77,273 crore
- Growth: 26.2%
The sharp rise in collections from imports suggests both higher import volumes/values and possibly better compliance and reporting in customs-linked GST collections.

Combining domestic and import components, the gross GST revenue by head is:

3. Refunds and Net GST Revenue

Refunds claimed and sanctioned on domestic transactions have increased substantially:
