MCA Extends Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme 2026 Deadline to September 15, 2026

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has once again extended the closing date of the Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026 (CCFS-2026), now allowing companies time until September 15, 2026 to regularise their pending statutory filings. This second extension was announced through General Circular No. 04/2026 dated August 31, 2026, and comes in direct response to representations received from stakeholders and industry bodies seeking additional compliance time.

Companies with overdue filings on the MCA-21 registry should treat this window seriously — given the scheme's history of providing a concessional fee route that substantially reduces the financial burden of late compliance, and given that this is already the second extension granted, there is no certainty that any further extensions will follow.

Timeline of CCFS-2026: From Introduction to the Latest Extension

Understanding how CCFS-2026 has evolved helps put the current deadline in perspective. The scheme did not arrive at September 15, 2026 in a single step — it has been progressively extended since its original launch.

Event Date Circular Reference
Scheme originally introduced February 24, 2026 General Circular No. 01/2026
Initial closing date July 15, 2026 General Circular No. 01/2026
First extension granted August 31, 2026 General Circular No. 03/2026 dated July 8, 2026
Second (current) extension September 15, 2026 General Circular No. 04/2026 dated August 31, 2026

The first extension, effected through General Circular No. 03/2026 dated July 8, 2026, was granted following disruptions to MCA21 filing services caused by a fire at the MCA data centre. The second and current extension, as stated in General Circular No. 04/2026, is attributed to representations received from stakeholders requesting more time to meet compliance requirements.

Important: The MCA has expressly clarified in General Circular No. 04/2026 that all other terms and conditions of the scheme remain unchanged. Only the closing date stands revised to September 15, 2026.

What Is CCFS-2026? An Overview of the Scheme

CCFS-2026 is a compliance facilitation initiative introduced by the MCA to enable eligible companies to clear their backlog of pending annual filings at significantly reduced cost. Rather than paying the full applicable additional fee — which can accumulate substantially for companies with multiple years of overdue filings — the scheme permits regularisation by paying only 10% of the applicable additional fee.

This concessional route is available in respect of specified annual filing forms and provides companies with three distinct pathways depending on their operational status:

1. Regularisation of Pending Annual Filings

Companies with outstanding ROC filings can bring themselves into compliance by paying 10% of the applicable additional fee — a notable concession when compared to the standard additional fee structure prescribed under the Companies (Registration Offices and Fees) Rules, 2014, which governs the underlying fee framework for all company filings.
