Extension of Minimum Export Price for Natural Honey: DGFT Mandates USD 1400/MT Limit Until December 2026

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, operating through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), has officially prolonged the pricing restrictions on outbound shipments of natural honey. Through the issuance of Notification No. 09/2026-27 dated 10 April 2026, the regulatory authority has extended the Minimum Export Price (MEP) mandate, ensuring that any assessee engaged in the international trade of this commodity adheres to a strict pricing floor.

This strategic regulatory intervention guarantees uninterrupted enforcement of the existing export framework, preventing the outward supply of natural honey below the specified monetary threshold while maintaining its unrestricted classification in the trade schedule.

The central government executed this regulatory extension by invoking its statutory powers under the primary foreign trade legislation. The amendment directly impacts the compliance obligations of every exporting assessee dealing in apiculture products.
