DGFT Notification: Extension of Timeline for Filing Annual RoDTEP Return for FY 2023-24
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has announced a significant compliance relief for exporters regarding the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme. Through the issuance of Public Notice No. 46/2025–2026 dated 5 February 2026, the authority has extended the mandatory filing deadline for the Annual RoDTEP Return (ARR).
This extension specifically pertains to the reporting period of Financial Year 2023–24. The move is seen as a facilitator for the "Ease of Doing Business" initiative, ensuring that the assessee has ample time to compile necessary data and adhere to regulatory requirements without facing immediate punitive actions, provided specific conditions are met.
Revised Deadlines and Composition Fees
The core update revolves around the modification of the cutoff date for submitting the ARR. Previously, the deadline for the assessee to file returns for the specified financial year was set for 30 November 2025. Recognizing the challenges faced by the trade community, the DGFT has pushed this date forward.
