Continuation of Minimum Import Price for Sulfadiazine API Imports
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), operating under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has officially prolonged the pricing restrictions on specific pharmaceutical imports. Through the issuance of Notification No. 40/2026-27 on 30 September 2026, the regulatory authority has extended the Minimum Import Price (MIP) framework governing the inbound shipment of Sulfadiazine Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API).
This regulatory update ensures that the pricing floor, which was previously established to monitor and regulate the influx of this specific API, remains fully enforceable for an extended duration.
