IBBI Marks Ten Years: Minister Highlights IBC's Role in Credit Discipline and Faster Resolutions
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) observed its Tenth Annual Day at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on 1 October 2026, ten years after the Board was set up on 1st October, 2016 (Press Release No. IBBI/PR/2026/17).
The Chief Guest's Message
Shri Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport and Highways, was the chief guest. He said that the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC) has improved credit discipline, made recovery easier and helped the ease of doing business. He spoke of the Government's intention to keep the Code responsive to new needs, including through recent legislative amendments, and asked all stakeholders to aim for quicker resolutions that maximise value in the next decade. He also called for wider use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, across the IBC ecosystem.
